BR1 – Fotografia Europea 2018

GOLDEN DARK AGE is a series of four photographs by the artist BR1 in which the identity of the women portrayed is concealed by an isothermal blanket, used during the rescue of sea migrants. These portraits invite us to reflect on the disintegration of democratic and liberal values, as well as on the ambiguities of the globalized society, which create new levels of social exclusion. BR1 also investigates the concept of "change" through the lens of physical and mental boundaries and cultural identities.
