Collezione Maramotti, May 9-July 31, 2010.MALICK SIDIBE’ – ” LE VIE EN ROSE “: the most important exhibition dedicated in Italy so far to African photographer Malick Sidibé, includes more than fifty black-and-white images from the 1960s and 1970s documenting a fundamental period in Mali’s history: the country, having achieved Independence, is traversed by new cultural and social dynamics, and Sidibé recounts the nights of Bamako, the parties in the clubs, the dances to the notes of Western music and the desire for life of the young people.? On display at the same time are a series of images related to his long work on studio portraiture in which he has always tried to restore spontaneity and beauty to his subjects.
