GIACOMO BRUNO – FOTOGRAFIA EUROPEA 2017
THRESHOLDS: SPACE AND PEOPLE
Giacomo Bruno and Riccardo Amarri
Survey on the phenomenological heredity of everyday life, on the one hand through the architectural thresholds, on the other through the souls that lie in them. Two photographers who complementaryly explore the expectation and the mystery of the thresholds of space and people in a search for the imperceptible moments that connect past, present and future, and the hope that they can bring.
Giacomo Bruno presents the project "Essential Life", a collection of images born during travel, as a direct consequence of the interest in photographic documentation of everything that is essential on this planet and that at an ever-faster, deafening or destined pace To disappear.
Every photographic journey undertaken is focused on man and his context, in its uniqueness and simplicity. Without the pretense or presumption of telling places and people still unknown or not yet photographed, the only ambition is to represent them in their beauty and extraordinaryness, in their increasingly unstable and precarious equilibrium, between the roots of their own culture and the alienating flattening of the new , Highlighting the peculiarities and singularities and returning to the protagonists of the images dignity and pride. The critical text is edited by Simona Borrillo.
